Life often tests your spirit and resolve. This is certainly the case when it comes to Stuart Lines and the amazing battle he overcame. To be back exercising and enjoying his second chance at life, Stuart's fight for survival and his determination to not give up is an inspiration to anyone who is looking for motivation.

9 days in a coma, 21 days on dialysis, 23 days in intensive care & 40 days in total in hospital… plus two massive incisions down the outside of his legs!

 

How can an extremely fit and diligent athlete pick up such an illness? Medical staff still scratch their heads as to why this happened but the most amazing part to this story is Stuart’s recovery.

 

He was told that he may never run again... 'there is the listening and there is the doing'

 

 Stuart has set a goal to represent Australia in the 2009 World Olympic Distance Triathlon Championships on the Gold Coast.
